Monday 17 February

We’ve had a busy day in Buenos Aires. Apparently, it was over 30C so it was quite warm, and a bit sticky in the afternoon. We set off on the bus and kept stopping at different places for a walk and a closer look, including Plaza de Mayo, Cathedral Metropolitana - where there was a changing of the guard, Presidential Palace and National Congress. We then went to the La Boca neighborhood where local artists have creatively painted colourful buildings with murals. It was here that thousands of immigrants lived after coming from Europe many years ago. After that we went to Recoleta Cemetery where the richest people were buried in magnificent marble tombs decorated with statues, including Evita Peron. We had a yummy ice cream break after that. Our dinner tonight was at another older, local restaurant with some craft beers. I had the salmon for a change from steak!
