We had a good nights rest last night. I awoke early enough to catch the tail end of the sunrise (then I went back to bed!). Good breakfast here too, including champagne to go in your orange juice. We set off about 9 for a half-day tour of the region around Bariloche. First up was a chair lift ride to the top for panoramic photos, lots of the Andean mountains and lakes, we could see a volcano in Chile (about 50 miles away) covered in snow. What a view! We had a beautiful sunny morning, about 16C, and it rose to 24 by lunchtime. We had Chococognac drinks at the top before heading back down in the chair lift again. Next stop was St. Eduard’s chapel, a little alpine church, we also passed the Llao Llao hotel (ritzy) and their golf course. We continued through the forest where there were some nice walking trails, pity we didn’t have time to indulge ourselves. We had another photo stop before returning to town for lunch and afterwards a walk to an ice cream shop with more flavours than we needed to choose from. The remainder of the day was free so we walked and looked in the shops - lots of chocolate shops (with samples for going in), and outdoor clothing.
